At about 16.00 hours on the 10.3.41, I sailed from

Shaukiwan for the purpose of deep sea fishing with a crew of 14 all told and accompanied by fishing junk No. 943 H.W.

At about 08.00 hours on the 12.3.31, whilst sailing about ☎ miles South of SAM MUN KAN (Long. 114° 39 E. Lat. 22° 26 N.) with junk 943 H.W. about one mile astern, a Japanese trawler, painted grey, two masts and one small funnel with the figure 7 painted amidships and flying the Japanese flag, approached us from the North. When the trawler was a short distance away, 7 or 8 shots were fired in our direction, we lowered our sails and the trawler came alongside and four Japanese sailors dressed in Khaki uniform, unarmed boarded my junk. They searched my junk and removed my 3 rifles and 300 rounds of ammunition onto the trawler before they reboarded the trawler. The trawler then sailed away and went alongside fishing junk No. 943 H.V. After leaving junk No. 943 H.#. the trawler sailed away in the direction of SAM MUN KAN and my junk and junk No. 943

H.. then returned to Shaukiwan, arriving at 16.00 hours on the 14.3.41.

My usual fishing ground is in the vicinity of

PING HOI (long. 114° 51'. Lat. 22° 37′

Lat. 22° 37 N.) and when stopped by

the Japanese I had several piculs of fish onboard which was not touched. My catch is always sold in Shaukivan.
